Imagine being who you really are ...  You are fully present in your life - intelligent, wise, clear, aware and creative.  You have reconciled the past.  You know who you are and what your purpose is.  You trust your instincts and your knowing about things.  You are guided always by love and not by fear.  You are deeply connected with your self, with others and with Existence.

Healing means coming back to this state of being, which is your true essence. We are all the best of humanity at our essence, and we all have the capacity to live from it (yes, this even applies to YOU!) When you heal the various physical, emotional, mental and spiritual traumas which happen as a result of being alive, you return organically to your glorious and simple wholeness.

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork helps heal:

In its simple focus on the breath, Breathwork enables you to go beyond what you already know with the rational mind, to what your experience is, in the body. Within the body is the memory of every experience you have ever had, from the time way back in your development when your cellular building blocks first began. All the feelings of your bliss, love and joy, as well as your pain, anger and fear, are remembered in the body. 

In every life, there are experiences and feelings which are too intense and powerful to integrate fully. In order to survive, you learn to hold on. You shut down the hard bits and get on with the business of living, and as a consequence of this holding, you also shut down your fullness - your whole self. 

So it happens that we shut down the body's natural healing mechanisms.

We learn to use alcohol/drugs/food/work/busy-ness/drama/fighting/sex/shopping and many other distractions to keep it all safely numb. It would be great if this worked without the unwanted side effects! And we also tend to numb the internal guidance - our knowing about who we are, about what we want, our knowing about how to re-connect.

Breathwork is a simple tool for accessing the whole kit-and-caboodle! It's is also the queen of tools for achieving self awareness, and allowing the body's natural machanisms to work effectively for healing, releasing, resolving, cleansing and regenerating.

Just as when you plant something in your garden, and you give it all the right conditions to thrive, you build your own natural resilience by putting yourself where you thrive!

~ The body automatically moves to heal wounds as soon as they occur, and will do so incredibly effectively when we do our bit by providing the right environment.

~ Breathwork provides that environment. It creates a safe and supported space to LISTEN, attentively and lovingly, to that which is seeking to balance itself.

~ Breathwork is also a wonderful meditation tool. It teaches a focus on what is happening right here and now, otherwise known as MINDFULNESS.

Just a breath away is your knowing about what you need in order to heal unresolved business. And just a breath away is the memory of who you really are, of your truth, and of what you need in order to live according to that truth.

Sessions - when, where, how long, how much?

Currently I am offering counselling and breathwork sessions at Hobart Breathing Space, 13b Goulburn Street, Hobart,  from Monday to Friday. A regular session is 90 minutes long and costs $140.00 including GST.

Monthly Breathwork Group

 

BreatheCircleFlyerIn 2016 the Breathe Circle is on the third Sunday of every month. We gather together to share the breath. Breathing our own breath, together.

It's a regular opportunity to dive deeply into yourself, at the same time as bearing witness to others' experiences and journeys, sharing the wonders of being human, of the powerful breath. We meet each other, we breathe, and then we share what happened and debrief together in a safe and supported circle. The space is lovingly and strongly held for you to tend to that which is seeking your attention. Book the Breathe Circle here - the cost is $50 + GST.

Come together

I offer counselling, mediation, conflict resolution, and the help you need to deepen your relationships ~ for couples, groups, colleagues, friends and family.

Not in Hobart?

Telephone or Skype sessions can be very effective if you are unable to come to Hobart. As per one to one sessions, they will take up to 90 minutes, and cost $35 per qarter hour including GST. Phone costs within Australia are included in this cost.

What happens in a Breath session?

Generally when you come for a Breathwork session, you will be guided to relax and to become very present in the body. You will then focus on the breath. You will be coached and encouraged to breathe evenly and fully, to gradually and gently expand the breath beyond its tightness and its holdings, into a deep, rich and complete breath. The inhale and the exhale will merge together and become circular. You will be encouraged and supported to keep breathing.

As you develop the intention to explore your deeper self, and you find a safe place to let go of the holding, and to open to yourself, you relax. You breathe. You let go! What was held and unexpresed comes into conscious awareness, where you can face it with the wisdom and maturity that you bring now. You will meet your inner world, come to know it, and release that which is held. Stress falls away, tension falls away, Life has more room. And you will have access to the natural joy that arises when old tensions find their expression.

Breathwork invites you to welcome your feelings.

Feelings are information from your body's organic and wise internal guidance system. They not only show you what's right for you and when you're on the right track, they also highlight what is love and what is not love. An uncomfortable feeling nudges you to heal so you can be your true self.

To reclaim the fullness of the Heart, sometimes you need to revisit the reasons you closed off your heart, to be willing to go there. In doing this you allow this incredibly clever organism that you are, to do what it knows how to do, and that is to self heal.
